| 627480 | 2008-01-05 01:19:00 | Hi Team Some time back in the last 18-24 months I posted a query regarding partioning of an external USB drive. I finally found all the answers I needed but failed to bookmark the thread. I now want to partition a new 320GB Seagate FreeAgent Pro but all my searches for the previous thread draw a blank, an experience i have more often than not when trying to search PF1 so there is obviously something wrong with my technique. I'd be grateful if somebody with more experience at PF1 searches could see if they can locate it. Unfortunately I think the thread title related to an error message or a request for some information I didn't have or understand, but key words I have tried are seagate, external, partitioning, and a few other similar words. I'll keep trying, but I'd really appreciate some assistance please. Cheers Billy 8-{) :groan: |

| 627482 | 2008-01-05 01:42:00 | Are any of These (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz) the ones you want ? Second on the list. How come I couldn't do that??? Maybe the title was the barrier. :( Thanks WT, however having re-read it, I'm rather wishing I hadn't. There is no way I'm going to crack this enclosure to extract the drive, but it is already formatted and has Seagate software on it so I'm hoping I can dive right in at a higher level and partion, then reformat those partitions as FAT32. Cheers Billy 8-{) :D |

| 627483 | 2008-01-05 05:07:00 | The search was more good luck ? than skill - trust me on that  In the Search the first subject I put was "partition External USB Drive" which brought up HEAPS of pages - The changed it to "partition USB Drive" and to the right put in under user Name Bill T. - thats what returned. Mind you its not that good I think - I was searching for a thread a few weeks back - I knew the name of it, and the date to within a week - but it did not locate it at all. So I had to manually go back through the pages until I found it. |
