| 627448 | 2008-01-04 06:44:00 | I sent an email to Xnet a few hours ago to ask them to change my ADSL plan. Does someone have to go to my local telephone exchange to make the adjustment, or can it be done remotely? | rumpty (2863) | ||
| 627449 | 2008-01-04 06:49:00 | Change it yourself here (www.xnet.co.nz) I dont think it has to go thru an exchange, it'll just change thru Xnet. When I first signed up I went for flood, then rang them to change it to river. It was done by the next day. |

| 627451 | 2008-01-04 07:14:00 | Hmm you might be right, if you say you're an existing user: It says: Simply email your name, account number and a contact phone number to salesatwxc.co.nz (I've removed the @ just in case) with your existing and new plan, data cap change or any other change you may require. You will receive a confirmation email once we have received your request. |

Way better than dialup anyway lol. I was glad to get rid of Ihug, and Telecom (I'm using the flatmates line). It was the only way, I was ever going to get on broadband. If I go over, it'll go down to 64/64. At the mo, I'm on 128k upload I think, and as fast as the line can go download. I'm not too worried about the upload speed, I dont upload big files anywhere anyway. I dont do P2P I havent used that much since I joined at the end of Sept. (there's 2 of us here) First mth was just over 10 GB. Nov was about the same, Dec was round 5-5.5 GB. And the highest I've paid so far would be about $39-40 You'll get outages once in a while, but this happens with most ISP's. And its good here, coz if I download, it doesnt slow the flatmate down. Like it used to on dialup. |

| 627455 | 2008-01-04 09:05:00 | I dont have anything else tho, like VOIP or other services. Just the broadband. So, the max I'll pay will be $40-50 a mth. I only went with Xnet, coz Ihug expected me to pay $99 up front, and I wasnt going to do that. And Xnet saved me $150 or so. Enough for me to buy the modem/router. And I saved $70-80 getting rid of Ihug and Telecom. Which went towards paying for the broadband. |

You can change your CAP through your login - account - and you get that same interface with pricing & slider to set your own account cap. As others have said, you need to phone or email xnet help to change river/stream/flood - usually next working day. |
