627391 2008-01-04 04:39:00 my 15inch lcd is cracked, is it fixable? Do you think i should take it to dse or somerthing? cheers grahic (12930)
627392 2008-01-04 04:40:00 is it still under warranty?
The price of a new screen if its out of warranty may be cheaper than the repair, thats if its fixable at all - sometimes they are not.

627393 2008-01-04 05:29:00 Is this the one you have already posted about here:pressf1.pcworld.co.nz ?

I would hazard a guess that it's not worth fixing.

LCds that are cracked are not repairable, without installing a new LCD screen.
You should have been able to pick up a non damaged LCD screen for $50 or less, I don't know why you would puchase something like that. 15 inch screens are not really sold these days new, so can be picked up cheaply second hand.

627395 2008-01-04 06:07:00 You got told in your original thread (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz) it wasn't worth it, and now your back asking if you can get it fixed. If you bothered taking the advice of people around here when you asked for it, you could have purchased a non-defective screen for less then it would cost for a new panel for this one. stormdragon (6013)

627398 2008-01-04 07:52:00 Obviously you are a fountain of all knowledge. If you are prepared to buy these sorts of damaged monitors then you must have some knowledge of whether or not they are fixable ... at a price to suit your budget. So why ask for advice when you seem so determined to ignore it? :groan: Cptn Hotshot (3904)
627399 2008-01-04 21:40:00 If you Google Cracked LCD Screen you will get a lot of info. Good Luck. peter pan (6885)
