If you don't have this then thats one possible item eliminated.

One trick for the unwary is if you have a graphic Card and Onboard, if the BIOS is set to detect the onboard instead of the Card, you wont get graphics, or a common mistake is to plug the monitor into the onboard when you have A Card - same effect - no go.

We have two connections, one of which is blue, so it looks like we do have onboard graphics. However both have been connected for the two and a half years we have had the PC.

I have not yet managed to get round to our friend's place to try out the monitor on their PC. However I will have to be very aware to look at how many connections they have and that their BIOS may have a different setup. Knowing this is a very good start, however. Thanks ! :)

Hi wainuitech
Have now tried with only the onboard graphics lead, with only the DVI lead and with both at the same time. None of the three possibilities give a picture. :(

I have been round to a neighbour's place and tried out the monitor and it worked fine there. They had a computer with only a blue fifteen plug - ie onboard graphics only, but the monitor worked.

Don't know if its any help but the motherboard I have is a CMV brand CT-720DS SXGA DVI. The motherboard is ASUS K8N 754pin nVidia3. The Processor is AMD +Fan Athlon XP3200+64.
