| 628489 | 2008-01-08 23:51:00 | There is a scientific explanation which has to do with hydrophobia (I think that's the word for it). Basically, you can mix Isopropyl Alcohol with water and it won't separate, whereas Meths (Ethanol + Methanol) will mix, but not well. What this means, is that Isopropyl Alcohol can clean both water-soluble, and alcohol-soluble "dirt". The other reason is that ethanol, from my understanding anyway, is "harsher" than isopropyl alcohol is, and is more likely to cause damage to the plastic coating on the screen. |
