| 628596 | 2008-01-09 05:33:00 | is there anything like google apps (which im using for personal use with my own domain name, not sure if that breaks rules) google apps is good....until you get to website building. its very very very limited, is there anything better i could switch to as xtra kinda blocks port 80 (i believe) and smtp so i cant really do much......maybe i should have got a package instead of a domain name any ideas | aidanmaz (7180) | ||
| 628597 | 2008-01-09 06:40:00 | There's two Microsoft equivalents which you can look at: - http://domains.live.com/ - http://office.live.com/ (the "Office Live Small Business" option) Otherwise, there are probably PF1 members who would be willing to help you out with hosting... |

Might be a website thing......cheers |

Have a look again tomorrow if it comes back up, and see what you think. If you want a lot more flexibility, there are a number of PF1 members who will be able to offer you web/mail hosting etc. |

| 628601 | 2008-01-12 23:00:00 | realising i should have signed up for a deal, not just buying a domain name! what is the best deal i could get? or the best place | aidanmaz (7180) | ||

You can find discount codes which give you $97 off. They're ok for personal hosting, though I wouldn't use it for a business or anything which *needs* 24/7 complete reliability. |

| 628603 | 2008-01-13 00:05:00 | Dreamhost is $119.40 for 1 year with discounts Where I have hosting at Lunarpages (www.lunarpages.com), it is $95.40 for 1 year, and I have found them very good over the last 4 or 5 years I have been with them. |
