| 629148 | 2008-01-11 02:50:00 | I've had the PC back for an hour now and have run several applications at once and (typically!) it hasn't missed a beat! Murphy's LAW  Isn't it :) The one common error is WinMgmt - which is Windows Management - Meaning you have a software problem ,not a hardware ( thats how I read it) The error code 0x80041001 is a general one, meaning could be multi reasons. Most of the articles I have found relate to Server 2003, WMI appears to be corrupted on your PC though. Found This Forum (www.pcreview.co.uk) Possible fix in Post 6 ?? EDITED: Just found This Article (windowsxp.mvps.org) BETTER choice I think - look at Windows XP SP2 |

| 629149 | 2008-01-17 00:19:00 | Thanks for everyones' helpful suggestions and ideas regarding this problem but I believe that I've finally resolved the matter -- a new power cord is seemingly all it took! I had previously been using the power cable the my mate had been using with his old PC before I built this new one. The PC has now been running without crashing/restarting at all for 16+ hours over 2 days. You learn something new every day ... |
