Old hard drive : Western Digital WD 400,WD Scorpio,Enhanced IDE hard drive, WD 400 VE - 00HDTO (40gb) Ram: Hynix 512 mb Ram 2Rx16 PC2 Question: What ype of hard drive can I install? Question: There are two slot for ram,laptop is 1.8ghz processer,I would like to boost that to x2 1gb's of ram,is that possible?if not whats required? graphics card is 126mb independant,gaming card. I was thinking my HDD was stuffed it wasnt it was the 1 of the sticks of ram. I removed it and laptop was fine and booted windows. | 629732 | 2008-01-12 13:05:00 | laptop brand/model number Notebook computer / M38AW Are you sure its the HDD? upon pressing start button,it loads to windows,the a blue screen,(which last 1 second if that)then black screen with Start windows normally,start in safe mode,have tryed to start in safe mode it gets so far the restarts to windows,blue screen,then back to black screen with start windows normally,have tryed waiting for count down to start normally,and have tryed to start by pressing enter key. Have you got any way to test the hdd or had it tested have tryed old h/d transfer files to new laptop,says failure / corrupt files old system was Xp home,new system is Vista,,not sure if Xp-Vista transfer files works,but got that error message. That doesn't necessarily mean the actual drive is dead. Could just be the file structure is corrupt. Wipe it and see if it will accept a fresh install. If it is dead, then any 2.5" drive will go in. And I second that - make sure its a Seagate. |
