630138 2008-01-14 09:14:00 Friend asked how to reduce pic size on his XP computer, told him to right click on a pic and there he would see resize picture in the drop down box,he says it's not there.
Is there some- thing one has to download to get that option?

I might add it is there on my XP os.

630141 2008-01-14 09:47:00 MS have a Image Resizer , its free Download here (www.microsoft.com) Look for Image Resizer, can change to several different sizes.

I also use VSO Image Resizer (www.vso-software.fr) as well.--- More features - does batches of Pics as well

Simply right click on the Pic you want, select Resize and a box opens to let you select what you want -- Applies to both apps.

If you go to my pics and click on a single pic,the option to resize is there as mentioned,if I click on a folder of pics, then it is not there.
There is also the mail option available.
Seems funny I am the only one with this option?

I do have power toys for XP,which maybe what Met meant?

I will resort to Wai's ideas if he can't get what I have.

Links for Powertoys and VSO Image Resizer:

www.microsoft.com

www.vso-software.fr

I have both. VSO has more features but I usually use Powertoys as it loads about 0.3 seconds faster :nerd: and the user interface is easier to use in a hurry.

630146 2008-01-14 19:05:00 If the resize image is not available in XP try this

Click Start, Run and type regsvr32 shimgvw.dll

Restart Windows for the changes to take effect
