| 629820 | 2008-01-12 21:19:00 | Help please. :p I currently have a Western Digital SATA 160GB HDD installed. I bought a new Seagate Barracuda PATA/100 650GB HDD. My OS (winxp) is installed on my SATA HDD and my PATA/100 HDD hasn't been installed yet. pretty much in the box still. I wanted my SATA HDD to be my Master and my PATA/100 HDD to be my Slave. I was wondering if you can mix SATA HDD with PATA/100 HDD and if you can, if someone can guide me on what port to put it in on my motherboard. My current motherboard is an ASUS P5LD2 with the following ports: PRI_IDE (blue) - used up by my DVDRW and DVD-ROM PRI_EIDE (red) - open SEC_EIDE (red) - open SATA 1 (red) - used by my 160gb SATA HDD SATA 2 (red) - open Thanks! |
