631050 2008-01-16 14:34:00 I thought id boggle your brains on a problem i have had for a while now. I'm Googled out.

I have a 5.1 sound system plugged into my XFI - Extreme Audio sound card.

Sound works fine, but the bass is missing.

I cant figure out why.

It seems no signal is being sent to the sub, except when i do a sound test.

Unfortunitly that did not work.

There is no wdma_emu.inf in the XFI setup.

Thanks for the help though

631053 2008-01-17 00:46:00 Hi Arctic*
This may be sort-of-basic but have you checked out Vista's sound support?
Ty- Start - Control Panel - Sound - Playback - Speakers - Properties - Enhancements... :2cents:

You may need to have a run through of the instructions again. The important part is using winrar to unpack the EXE file (SBXF_PCDVT_LB_2_15_0004.exe)
Once unpacked you will find the wdma_emu.inf file in ..drivers\wdm subfolder.

631056 2008-01-17 22:40:00 Are you having the problem with movies or movies and games?

If it is movies check that you media player is not down-mixing to 2 or 4 speakers and check your codec settings for the same.

The problem is with games and music (everything).

ok, sorry it didn't work out.

It will continue to be a problem until creative labs releases new drivers to support bass redirection, or else you manage to unpack
ccftp.creative.com
using winrar:
www.rarlab.com

I've just downloaded it as of 18/01/2008 and it does in fact contain the file in question, and the line to update is in there.

Hmm that is strange.

I will download it again and have another look.

And yes i used win-rar.

The drivers your talking about in the second part are they generic XFI drivers? as the ones i download for my Extreme Audio dont have the wdm folder.

They dont have the same file name as my XFI drivers (DLed yesterday from creative)

Edit: Where did you get that download from? I cant find anything like it on the creative site.
