| 630568 | 2008-01-16 01:08:00 | 3 Computers all running WinXP Pro, hooked up to a Linksys Router. PC1, PC2, Laptop and network group all set to WORKGROUP ipconfig shows PC1 10.0.0.1/255.255.255.0 - Gateway 10.0.0.138 PC2 10.0.0.2/255.255.255.0 - Gateway 10.0.0.138 Laptop 10.0.0.4/255.255.255.0 - Gateway 10.0.0.138 All can connect to the Net no problem. All set to share one folder at least with each other and PC1 shares 2 Printers with the other two computers. I can ping any computer from any computer that all works fine. Everything was sweet until I installed IIS on PC1. Even though IIS is now un-installed shares and printer are not working:-( The Laptop and PC2 show PC1 in the Network Places, but when I click on it it asks for a Password and shows Name pc1\Guest which is greyed out. I have always had Guest Account disabled as it is now on all computers, why does it ask for Guest? Now the sharing stuff does not work. WHY doesn't it work? |
