630585 2008-01-16 00:22:00 Hi Guys

I am trying to un-install Zone Alarm so that I can re-install it.

But when I re-install it, it picks up my old settings.

So I need to completely uninstall it.

This looks to be very hard, all the googling I have done points to VERY complicated proceedures.

Surely when you uninstall a program - it should uninstall all of it !

Regards

630586 2008-01-16 00:35:00 Go into Windows/system 32 folder and delete the ZA folder from there.

630587 2008-01-16 00:45:00 Zone alarm can "want to stay" some times.

Try looking at This PDF (download.zonelabs.com) Page 79 onwards.

It may take it out mostly, but then there may be some bits left in the Reg.

Also you can try these Instructions - its in a lot of places as well as the install folder and reg Download Document (dl2u.savefile.com) The instructions are to long to post here.

The instructions are from Castlecops

630588 2008-01-16 02:19:00 Download and run the Norton Removal Tool, at your own risk, I have never used it:

Its ZA not Nortons.

I'd perhaps use something like registrar_lite to do a reg search for all zonelabs listings then remove em

630592 2008-01-16 05:21:00 The last traces can sometimes be eradicated using regedit [turn off system restore first] but it is not a recommended procedure for the faint hearted. PENTIUM (426)
