631252 2008-01-17 19:55:00 I found some sort of test, here is what the CPU does.

631253 2008-01-17 19:57:00 Once again, use the Windows Task Manager instead of Everest. I dont know if Everest is reading the performance correctly! SolMiester (139)
631254 2008-01-17 19:59:00 Thanks guys, the task manager shows both cores now :D, and they are both working :D Netsukeninja (13296)
631255 2008-01-17 20:03:00 Might pay to run it a bit longer than 16 seconds....

I'm not sure that would be taxing enough either.

I have seen a laptop display a message to say that the second core was kicking in when beginning intensive video processing. Whether there is a problem with your setup I wouldn't know but until you give it something really taxing to do it might not require the other processor to work.

Edit: Ah. You got it going.

Not many games support multi-cpu. Only those that do will use more than one core & these will be more modern games such as HL2 Episode 2 & Crysis.

631258 2008-01-17 20:30:00 hmmmmm i play older games like NFS Most Wanted and Carbon, is there some sort of patch or program i can use? i Like the high detail ;) password (5384)
631259 2008-01-17 20:49:00 I noticed that in Everest Home my CPU Core #1 is never used, only core #2.
I'm wondering whether this is a problem.

You're surprised?
Its because there is stuff-all that actually uses 2 cores, so 99.99% of the time one is sitting there in the waiting room with a magazine.

Crysis will. MS FSX will. A particular DVD authoring program will. And not much else.

This will change eventually as new software is written to take advantage of 2 cores but at present one of them will always be bored.

Just think of all the quad-core owners - they have 3 of them doing nothing.
