631291 2008-01-17 20:40:00 is it normal for nero to end up restarting my computer everytime i try to encode video to a dvd? i get about 60% done and the machine restarts. There is no errors in the eventlog, is this a flaw with nero? aidanmaz (7180)

631294 2008-01-17 21:21:00 I would update Nero, the latest version is 7.10.1.0

It maybe a bug in Nero (which is why its been updated since)

Hopefully your version isnt OEM. Otherwise, you may need another serial.

Altho there is 7.10.1.2 but thats pretty big (332 mb).

Only other thing it could be, is your system is overheating when you use Nerovision.

Is this the only program your system reboots on?

631295 2008-01-17 21:35:00 motherboard is 36 degrees C
CPU is between 19-32c -when encoding video it around 35-36
hard drives are at 35c

those prob arent accurate, but it gives an idea. I seem to have it cooled really well :-p the nero i have is OEM, this is the first time the computer has ever restarted during operation in the 2 years i have had it.

631296 2008-01-17 21:40:00 But is this the 1st time Nerovision has rebooted it?

And the 1st time you've installed / used Nerovision?

I would say its a bug in Nerovision

Or you need to test your ram, to see if one of the simms are faulty.

631297 2008-01-17 21:58:00 did a test using memtest, everything is working fine. Nerovison restarted the pc last night at 11:46pm, and then when i tried again this morning it restarted again. aidanmaz (7180)
631298 2008-01-17 22:02:00 Are you using the original burner with this OEM version of Nero?

You probably are, since I dont think Nerovision would detect the burner.

If it wasnt.

WHAT's the brand/model of the burner?
