Thats where the fun begins - lots of people don't make the recovery DVD, and when something goes wrong, its to late. If it were a desktop PC, and you brought it from a "real computer shop" that builds PC's- not some place like Harvey Normans for example, you would get the Windows CD/DVD. |

| 631897 | 2008-01-19 23:10:00 | Similar to Pete's question, is it possible to buy a laptop with no OpSys at all? Only guessing, but Dell may be able to - purchase one with Linux on if needed, since the OS is free, then wipe it and put on what you want. Making sure drivers are available Before doing any thing. | wainuitech (129) | ||

Making sure drivers are available Before doing any thing. Some corporate Dell lines are available with FreeDOS, and some consumer lines are available with Ubuntu. I don't think either are sold in NZ though. |

| 631901 | 2008-01-22 05:22:00 | What about this? (oem.microsoft.com) Does this mean that all pre-installed OS'es that have the COA attached them have to come with the hologram media as well? | stephen (9719) | ||
| 631902 | 2008-01-22 05:24:00 | If you realy just want a blank computer with no os you could either go to a computer shop and ask them to build one for you or ask to get one of their standard ones but without the os. | nzjab06 (101) | ||
