| 631827 | 2008-01-19 12:19:00 | Hey all i currently have a 3C905B-TX Fastetherlink XL PCI 1 3COM Card in my machine . I was wondering if the card i have in my machine is better than ASSY 03-0104 REV A 3COM Card wich i have right next to me . I currently own a private WoW server with 50+ people connected to the machine . Any help is greatly apprecaited Thanks |

| 631830 | 2008-01-19 17:13:00 | I don't think there is any bottleneck in the actual card...unless it is very old and slow..but reading between the lines, what you have described is NOT a card/performance problem. It is likely more possible that you will be or are currently suffering the speed and capacity of your ISP limits. Maybe somewhere, there is an ISP that can totally suck the whole performance outta your card and truly give you the speeds and connections that the card is designed for...but I've not seen it yet. Again..there MAY be some...like where I don't know..but I truly doubt you'd see any difference in swapping cards for better/more speed or bit flow. PS: Not too sure that this could or would be a RAM issue either..I could be mistaken there, but I don't see it that way. Then again...I don't game..but I DO send/receive a lot of online (read: HUGE, 6 Gig+) files all the time and I've never had the card max-out. I think the wires get a little warm..but the 3Com EtherLink XL10/100 PCI card stays cool. Corrections will arrive quickly if I am wrong there. |

| 631831 | 2008-01-19 19:58:00 | I have noticed that using card (ASSY 03-0104 REV A 3COM) has redcuded my sent and recieve packets by a hell of lot im talking what from... SENT 160+ MILLION PACKETS /RECIEVE 300+ MILLIN PACKETS if i leave on for over 24 Hours with this card i have now called (ASSY 03-0104 REV A 3COM Card) i am now recieving 10million+ packets sent and around 20+ million packets reciece but im not sure if this has anything to do with anything. |
