631732 2008-01-18 23:08:00 So I was playing Portal, I quit the game, and I come back to the desktop to find that it is all scrambled up (Graphics error?) I shutdown my computer, and turn it on again. It all starts up fine, but after the Windows XP thing, the screen goes blank and there are 8-10 white pixels blinking in random places around my screen.

Can anyone tell me what is wrong?

Thanks.

Monitor?
See if you can borrow others to substitute and isolate the problem

631734 2008-01-19 00:00:00 Can't edit my post for some reason, but I fixed the problem I think. I moved the card into another PCI slot, and it worked. Can you burn out PCI slots?

It has no fan, only a heatsink on the chip.

631735 2008-01-19 00:15:00 Must have been loose in the slot or perhaps corroded contacts, cant see it having 'burnt' anything, seeing as the cards working.
Why didnt you buy a PCIEx16 card, would be faster/more efficient than a PCI card, you have the right slot on that motherboard.

631736 2008-01-19 00:25:00 The thing is, I bought this card a few months ago for another PC the PSU was not powerful enough,so I used it in this build (my first).

I will eventually buy a PCI Express card. I'm just not made of money.
