Hi, Many Australian and New Zealand users of steam have complained about steam's lack of allowing us to choose a certain content server to get data from, due to data caps and filtered content servers that let you get the content without contributing to your bandwidth. In New Zealand those with Xnet are able to use the recoil steam content server without using up any data cap. The IP address for this is 58.28.96.30, however steam isnt reliable in always choosing this server, and so can eat up bandwidth with source games, such as downloading the orange box. How would I manage to block all other IP addresses just for port 27030 (steam content server port) except for the Recoil one? I have a generic D-Link DSL-502T router. Any help is much appreciated! |
