| 632865 | 2008-01-22 20:57:00 | I am trying to back-up some music CD's which I OWN. I have 5 CD's which I copied to my hard-drive and they are .aiff files. I then burn't these 5 folders of .aiff files onto a DVD+R. Then I tried playing it in my car stereo and it will not work, does not work in home stereo either. Is it because I used a DVD rather than a CD? Is it because they are .aiff files? Which file type should I use? Why am I bothering? my car was broken into :( and they stole the CD's I had in it, so I thought if I kept my originals at home and just had the copied disc in my car it wouldn't upset me as much if it happened again. Also I have a simple one disc car stereo so burning 5 albums on to one disc which I could play on random would be like having a disc stacker!!! PS. My stereo is not able to play mp3's it is a simple factory standard one. Insurance companies don't cover stolen CD's from cars even when you have full cover and the empty disc covers as proof you owned them! |

If you can not just drag them across and retain the CD's default extension then maybe Mac's Garageband might be able to convert them back to CDA I do not know what Mac software will convert them to playable media. On a PC I would just drag the files into a folder from the CD, then use Nero burning software and it can decide whether to burn as MP3 or normal .CDA format You will need to use a CD and not a DVD. you might get about 20 songs on a CD. IF your player could play MP3's then you would get around 100 on a CD in MP3 format. |
