632840 2008-01-22 10:44:00 Hi guys.

Well I moved back to Australia (lived in NZ for 6 months) and today our stuff arrived.

I opened up my box with my pc in it and found that my Nvidia Zalman cooler off its little mount. I was immediately concerned and worried that my comp may have been damaged because of this.

I tried putting the cooler back on the mount but it doesnt stick and the little piece of metal that supposedly keeps it secure had also come off the cooler mount.

I hope my pc is going to be ok. I had troubles when I first got this pc and it wasnt properly secured then aswell. I had a mate fix it for me and I thought he did because it didnt come off.

Any suggestions please

What type of cpu are you talking about, sounds from your description that its possibly a AMD Athlon XP chip or similar, does the heatsink/fan assembly look something like this (www.imagef1.net.nz)
If this has come off, it has probably broken the projections (www.imagef1.net.nz) off the cpu socket that the large clip hooks over in which case you'll need another motherboard. :horrified
If it doesnt look like this, take a (digital) photo of the assembly and post it in your next answer (use this (http://imagef1.net.nz/)). ;)
