632414 2008-01-21 04:33:00 Hi,

On my iMac - a newish one with a 256Mb graphics card and all stainless steel, when I play games in windows, after a while the screen goes weird colours like it's 256 colours.

Any ideas why this is?

Cheers

632415 2008-01-21 04:40:00 Have you got the latest video card drivers?
What version of windows are you using? i presume you are running windows through boot camp and not Vmware or parallels

632416 2008-01-21 05:29:00 Yeah, you'd have to do it through Boot Camp as support for hardware accelerated 3D graphics in virtualised software solutions like Parallels and VMware Fusion is pretty flaky if existent at all. sal (67)

632419 2008-05-09 11:58:00 maybe there is a hardware fault or overheating or something. it is apple after all.. Agent_24 (57)
632420 2008-05-09 12:07:00 Hi Agent 24, thanks for your reply.

Strangely enough it works fine in OS X

632421 2008-05-09 19:01:00 The latest version of VMware is actually looking pretty good for gaming. vitalstatistix (9182)

None from personal experience. My suggestion would be to take it into your nearest Apple store, plod is the only one on the forum with the new aluminum iMac, I have the earlier white model. You say the game is fine on the Mac side but a problem on the Windows side - without wanting to state the obvious but that sounds like a Windows driver issue.
