Remember it pays to contact the Property Manager in advance on things. Keeps the landlord happy (little things are often easy to fix but mount up and can cause downtime for the landlord at tenancy end. We'd much rather fix things as they go wrong than have a week's vacancy whilst we fix a dozen things at once!) 3. Print out and keep a copy of the email with your tenancy agreement. If the flat is sold the new owner may demand a frig as a replacement. The email makes it clear the problem is resolved so clears you of liability. 4. In future either leave the frig to defrost on it's own or, if you have to speed it up, put bowls of boiling water in it or use a hairdrier! |

| 183777 | 2003-10-17 04:24:00 | 30 years for a fridge is just amazing like, they just don't make 'em like that these days. Had to replace my 15 yr old gentle annie wm last week. Friends say whiteware don't seem to live past 5. 1. golden rule of defrosting: never use a sharp object to pry off ice from fridge/freezer walls 2. SCRUD - the waxy deposit left on a wm by frequent use of fabric softener (not to be confused with the long missing half of a pair of socks) Cheers T |

But at the end of the day you've done what you feel is right and it's worked out which goes to show you were right to take thaty path. Well done. Maybe you could use the old fridge as a trade in. That would kill 2 birds, partly, disposal and cost of an upgrade. Good luck and thanks for the entertainment, sincerely, precious. Cheers Murray P |
