On a mobo that doesn't support dual-channel, all ram sticks share a single memory path, no matter how many slots you have. DIMM isn't a type of memory - it stands for 'Dual Inline Memory Module' and describes the memory board, not any particular type of memory. I think what you are trying to refer to is DDR.
