632595 2008-01-21 21:32:00 I'm not new here but it's been so long, I forgot my username and password so i just reregistered XD. Anyway... My aunt is having a problem with Norton. It says "Symantec Antivirus could not access the scan engine. Please ensure the product is properly installed." So I googled that and it came up with some things and one was a PDF of the Norton manual with some Error Codes in it. Beside the error, it says "Unable to instantiate an IScan object when
attempting to scan. This can happen in low
memory situations."

She also said that it been running a weekly scan and all the sudden stopped. She went in to manually scan it when that error came up. I have no idea how much memory she has but she does have a lot of programs open in the taskbar, there was a Windows Update going on at the time and she had Outlook Express open. She has Windows XP Professional. Any suggestions? (Aside form dump norton and get AVG XD)
