1423115 2016-07-15 03:59:00 I recently purchased a Canon MX496 inkjet printer/copier/fax which seems to be working OK, however I yesterday printed some glossy adhesive labels (on media suitable for inkjets) and when I handled the prints, the black text was faint and smudged easily, while the coloured areas were perfect and could be handled straight out of the printer.

I figured that I just hadn't given the black ink time to dry, so I waited for a few minutes but it was no better, and 24 hours on, it shows no sign of improving, smearing at the lightest touch. I've got around the problem pro-tem by creating two files, one with the mono component only, and the other with the colour component only.

I then printed the black on a mono laser and the colour on the inkjet, but why should black ink fail to dry when coloured inks are 100% ready for handling straight out of the printer? It has me baffled!

Printers are not treating me very well at present, I bought a Fuji Xerox Docuprint CP225W and it simply refuses to install (OS is XP Pro). It did look like working once, but I'd entered the wrong configuration during installation so I started again, and since then I've had no luck at all. I've deleted all prior attempts but it refuses to cooperate. I've cleaned it out with Revo Uninstaller as well but it still refuses to install, and to add insult to injury, the Fuji software pops up a splash screen every time I reboot the computer. I purchased the Fuji after my experience with a Samsung was less than stellar, with very faded colours, but at least it loaded and printed!

Cheers
