| 1422972 | 2016-07-12 08:59:00 | I have been using System Mechanic for a year now with good results. Granted, it doesn't do anything that you you can't do yourself, but is more convenient. All was well until it updated from version 15.5 to 16. Since then it crashes on 2 Windows 7 laptops, but is Ok on Windows 10 Pro 64bit. What really bugs me is that despite the fact that it is legit and paid for, I can not send them an email without Registering on their forum. The only way I can warn them is to make an expensive phone call in the middle of the night, can't be bothered! Something that puzzles me is that from time to time it will instruct me to open the the program because things are slowing down. Once settings have been changed, why should they need changing again? For instance, it will tell me that a swag of junk files need deleting, but when I check with CCleaner its not always true. It also claims to defrag the drive, but when I check its just the same. I don't thing you can defrag a drive in one minute! Maybe its 50% bull. |
