| 1422947 | 2016-07-12 00:58:00 | Today, in preparation for a future attempt to get Win 10, I went to create a System Image onto my Seagate External HD. When I came back to my laptop (CompaqHP610 running Win 7 Professional 4gb RAM) I saw "Backup failed cannot find File (0x8007002)." I have previously never had problems creating a System Image -last one 25 May 2016. I tried searching on the Seagate for the missing file (thinking it might be part of prior System Image Backups on it) but got "search found no results". Can I please have guidance on should I do?. thanks Neil |

| 1422948 | 2016-07-12 01:58:00 | What program are you using to create the image ? is it definitely an image, and not just a backup ? possible causes issues due to sleep, hybernation etc issues due to power save on the USB interface or on the USB HD social.technet.microsoft.com could be the USB HD disconnecting read issues on either HD could be other programs running in the background causing issues , if you do an image while Win is running could be a issue with verify , not finding some temp file or locked file |

| 1422950 | 2016-07-13 09:27:00 | Hi 1101 I have Windoes 7 Professional (64bit) and was using Windows Control panel - Backup and Restore then selected Create a System Image. I then select my Seagate External Hard Drive as the place on which to create the System Image. This is the first time I have experienced any problems with Creating a System Image. I did try the sfc/Scannow tip but got some new error messages - about shadow copy (Ox80780034) and "the specified object was not found (0x80042308). I have USB2 ports . I'll get my old (plug in to Mains power ) WD external Hard Drive out and see if that has issues . The Segate runs off the PC by USB (not mains) so may be "slleeping" so I guess I can also test by sitting in front of screen and moving mouse or touch pad to stop screen going into "security lock" Thanks for your ideas. | 1422952 | 2016-07-16 01:47:00 | I got it to work by "sitting " and continually refreshing the screen by touching Touchpad instead of going away and doing something else. I don't know if that was the real answer but I now have a new System Image backup. Thanks to both of you for the suggestions |
