1422614 2016-07-02 22:56:00 Hi,

I am wondering if it is okay for a tower pc to be laid on its side while running windows as normal and doing usual day to day tasks, like internet, email, word etc....? Will I start to experience any problems or is this completely a bad idea? See picture for example:

Only problem you may have is using the optical drive.

You may have to turn the monitor/screen on its side. PJ:devil

1422618 2016-07-03 00:47:00 Doesn't matter one little bit which way the case is, as long as it can still get air flow ( as its been pointed out by Driftwood).

Just some advise though, it pays to have the motherboard on the bottom not hanging from the top - Simple reason - Gravity will want to make any components fall down.

Seen it in cars if the motherboard is on the top, go over a bump in the road and the graphic cards / memory can move and dislodge. That's why I always put them on their sides motherboard down in the boot so any bumps will force components into the board should they be loose. :)

1422619 2016-07-03 01:24:00 Its 100% fine, just make sure the motherboard is at the bottom side and that no cables are touching or obstructing the fans. Maybe lay it on its side then open the case and have a look to make sure no wires are in the wrong place myCompare (17471)
