(www.youtube.com) Classic, I believe OSH were on conference calls all day yesterday trying to work out how to stop a similar thing happening in NZ. Actually, I saw a similar thing years ago between a young fellow who had been given a nice new Komatsu bulldozer by his boss (a large contracting firm) and a much older owner-driver who had a Caterpillar. Now they were both working on the same sub-division and the older chap had "Caterpillar Yellow" in his veins and claimed he never made any money until he purchased a Cat, and the youngster, overjoyed with his new acquisition, claimed he could push the Cat all around the subdivision. Well, the inevitable occurred and they took each other on blade to blade. Unfortunately for the young fellow the old chap was too cunning and dropped his blade just before contact, got under the Komatsu and lifted him so the only traction he had was at the rear. He then pushed him to a bank covered in scrub and pushed him over. The young fellow then had to get his boss to send another bulldozer with a winch to get him out. Don’t ask me how he explained the situation. No Cones, Hard Hats, or High-Vis jackets were damaged during this saga. There wasn’t any. ;) |

Lots of vans, orange cones out, saftey vests Trainees gathered round watching how its done... evidently, when removing down a large branch, above you head, dont have hard hat, safety glasses or any safety gear Grab that branch and start yanking on it to break it off & bring it down. Who needs a saw or ladder :-) clown training I guess |

It seems the Japanese have invented a shovel that stands by itself . * California Department Of Transportation, State Level ^ California Transportation, City-Level |
