1418921 2016-04-11 05:53:00 Hi All

Asus laptop, W10.

Sometimes when I boot up & get past the password, the screen starts to come then I get An error message.

Failed to connect to a Windows Service.

Then it just sits there & nothing happens. I usually have to shut down & restart 2-3 times to get it to fully boot up. What could be causing this, please? PJ

1418924 2016-04-13 03:25:00 Whats the rest of the message, it should say what its not connecting to - Do you know how many services are running in windows ? :) wainuitech (129)
1418925 2016-04-13 07:37:00 W...Will try to write it down next time it happens. No...I don't know what is running, how do I find out? PJ Poppa John (284)
1418926 2016-04-13 08:37:00 It should have a message under the Error saying what is not working, something like this:

7100

Depending on what service is failing will depend on what the fix is.

W..Almost the same as you put up. Where do I look for the fault? PJ

1418928 2016-04-14 21:39:00 W..Almost the same as you put up. Where do I look for the fault? PJ Almost is not good enough, it has to be the correct error message for what ever service is not working.

That picture before is ( or should be) similar to what pops up.In the message should be exactly whats not connected.

What you can try is open the event Viewer - in the search type in eventvwr open it, Expand out Windows Logs / System, it may show what didn't start/connect if it does double click it and copy/paste the complete message.

Some like mine below you can ignore, BUT if you are getting a error on startup then that really needs to be looked into.

While mine didn't pop up any errors, there's one this morning as described above in the system Log:

7107

Its only the search having a "moment" and didn't start as it should, but its running fine a few seconds later.
