Don't know what 'infra dig' is, but it really doesn't matter - you can be just what you want . No baptisms today I guess .

But seriously --- you aren't moving from your stance and I'm not moving from mine and yet we've had some nice communications all these years as I hope we can continue in the future years .

Neither of us today have changed and yet we talked to each other for years even with our personal differences . We can continue to do that if you want . I'm in for the long run .

You've always been a somewhat snarky as an adjunct to your personality but I found it a refreshing in a good way: you get your point across .

Like I just said in so many words: I think you're a very decent and staid personality in my book .

Good on ya and I always have and hope to always yet continue that relationship .

They said he refused medication, prefering prayer, & thats why it turned into full blown aids

I know nothing about JW's in general , but this is just 1 guy who may had his own slightly different beliefs .

FWIW: Prince used to be - I believe - a Christian Scientist, and they don't allow for the interventions of medicine or medical procedures - there are some exceptions on a personal case-by-case level. That however, isn't the edict of that church, but I can see some edgy, fringe-type persons taking license with the 'no-meds/no doctors' thing if that floats their boats.

JWs (me included) do take medicines as prescribed, allow doctors to operate on us (if we want) and the only edict to which we adhere is the scriptural command to not consume (eat, or ingest in any way) blood, which is considered sacred.

We even dance, drink alcohol, but not to inebriation, and have parties and celebrations. We meet as a large family unit and support each other in grief, success and times in between. That's just a thumbnail, but I understand the rumor mills can get things really wrong, especially when there are no- or incorrect- "facts".

As far as Prince backstroking to his Christian Scientist's beliefs of 'no meds/no doctors', I cannot say. In the last throes, I imagine that anyone can fall into old habits if they are not thinking clearly. 		SurferJoe46 (51)

i guess Prince must have jammed/ been influenced from Carlos Santana frequently. His piece rift resembles Toussaint L'Overture (www.youtube.com)(About 3.30 mins in the YT Vid) from a 1969/70? I shall listen to that whole album this morning . Thanks for the tip .

Off the cuff - Prince stated numerous times that Carlos Santana was one of his musical inspirations . If as you say this is more than vaguely reminiscent to that album cut, then I am quite interested .

And BTW: the US press and the not-so-nice rumor gristmills here have not said anything about AIDS as it concerns Prince's death or what might have lead up to that condition .

The biggest inquest to come will be the full autopsy (required when a doctor is not the treating physician and ATTENDED at the time of death) which will prove if he was under the influence of recreational drugs or not . 		SurferJoe46 (51)

You pick out the bits that suit and ignore the others .
Why are you not following these instructions then?

Burning any yeast or honey in offerings to God
Failing to include salt in offerings to God (2:13) [Normal penalty . ]
Eating fat
Touching an unclean animal
Letting your hair become unkempt
Tearing your clothes (10:6) [“You will die” and God will be angry at everyone . May only apply to the priesthood . ]
Drinking alcohol in holy places
Eating an animal which doesn’t both chew cud and has a divided hoof
Eating – or touching the carcass of – any seafood without fins or scales

From the ages of 9 to about 13, I got in the **** fairly regularly for asking questions.

They'd say read this bit, I'd read it, and usually continue on past where they had said stop.
Led to some interesting fights with my dad and the other "elders".

Like:

At the end of the world when everyone except Jehovahs Witnesses are killed off – why are the unborn babies also killed? And the new born babies? And the little kids? Who had no say in what religion they were etc?

For that matter, the flood – why would god kill all the babies (see above) and the animals too? God being the amazing superbeing couldn’t have just caused a virus or something instead?

And when they landed, how did the animals get to their various homes? Kangaroos, pandas, etc? Swim?
Stic around for a while? Even then, there is still a fair bit of water in the way, did noah make another trip to drop them all off?

What did they eat during this time?
You have floods, it tends to kill of all the plant life for ages. So the herbivores ate what? Eelephnats need a fair bit of food each day. And the predators, they couldn’t eat the 2 remaining herbivores, could they, so they are what?

After the end of the world when all the JWs are happily living in the dead peoples houses etc, the came back to life ones – so I was told, don’t marry.

Or putting it another way, don’t have sex perhaps.
Why? Are they all then some kind of neuters? What if thy want to have sex? What if they want to be married?

All the animals live happily together and don’t eat each other anymore either. How? God mutates them? Carnivores cease to exist? What about herbivore population control? Rabbits for instance….

Then the long boring meetings where the pick out some text from the bible, burble on how this is relevant to their particular spin n things, with lots of referring to their own books of propaganda etc.
Which, when they contain awkward parts – like hmmm….1975 for instance, the time of the big ****up when the end of the world didn’t happen and they had to backtrack and deny, they rewrite the book and take those awkward bits out.

I know, my father used to keep all the revisions of them.

Anyway back to some bits;

Lot, the godly one.
The angels – appearing as good looking guys are requested to come out and have orgies with the citizens, Lot says no, have my daughters instead, they’re virgins.
Such a godly man.
After all they’re only women, OK for them to be raped.

Moving on, they leave and are told not to take a peek.
Loots wife does so, and is killed for such a horrendous crime.

Not godly huh.

Lot meanwhile ends up in a cave, apparently there are no other people within years of them, so him and his daughters make babies together. This is fine.
Such godly people.

Bringing me to: The wandering in the desert after the (nowhere written anywhere in history), the escape from Egypt. They wander about in the desert for - 40 years! Get this, not 40 weeks, 40 months, nope – 40 years.
Looking for the promised land.
Really? Were they on Mars? I mean you could walk across Europe – and back – in 40 years.

In all this time they couldn’t find the damn place? OK GPS was a bit lacking then, but did they walk around in circles? 		pctek (84)
