1419419 2016-04-24 21:26:00 Wow Joe, seeing Prince play like that reminds me of some of the early Gary Moore stuff gary67 (56)
1419420 2016-04-25 00:31:00 Maybe yes - maybe no. I DO know that Larry Graham was studying with him and I saw them together a few times in LA, but of late, Prince was back doing some of his early music that he said he wasn't even going to catalog any more.

So statements like that can be inflammatory if the whole situation isn't known. I don't know his condition lately - even outward appearances can be deceiving. I won't even make that sort of statement without at least plausibility of fact beyond tabloid gossip and innuendo.

1419421 2016-04-25 00:39:00 Reality in USA, why wouldn't you take drugs?

Ask Robin Williams.

1419422 2016-04-25 00:41:00 Gary was an incredible guitarist - full of feeling and crashing brilliance. He died at 58 years - another 'too early' personae like Janis, Jimi, Mama Cass, Buddy, SRV, etc, etc.,

I had never seen much of Prince - playing - as he was fairly reclusive and didn't like accolades, so he was a type of guy who played and ran out of the venue. I saw him at a social situation in Hollywood before we moved to Montana, and although it was public, musical-type appearance, I never got a chance to get too close to him. He was dodging people who wanted autographs though.

Prince, in order to NOT have praise on himself, denied the Artists' Association in Hollywood to NOT give him a star on the Walk Of Fame - he was that modest.

There's something in that.

Not as much as you'd think.
Many people get addicted to prescribed medication.

Opiates - codeine, morphine, heroin are all more or less the same thing, just slight differences in strength and how fast or slow acting.

The difference mainly, at least here in NZ, is price.
No doubt in the US the prescribed stuff costs more from the doc than the street dealers.

There's a difference between prescribed drugs and recreational drugs.

I've got two bad knees, awaiting replacement, a fractured pelvis - no resolve in sight; ruptured lumbar vertebra and peripheral neuropathy. I've had a stroke, a TIA and A-Fib. I've had 7 retina surgeries in the right eye, and 3 surgeries in the left.

You BET I take medications for that!

1. Metoprolol
2. Warfarin
3. Tramadol
4. Pantoprazol
5. Lyrica.
