| 1419320 | 2016-04-22 10:14:00 | Oh right, well before we can take this matter further youll have to advise your inner leg length so we can ascertain midway. ;) Oh, based on that, then only ankle deep. ;) If we do get a full meltdown of global ice, then I'll be living on beachfront property. 66m sea level rise is the current prediction if it all melts. This would flood a very large part of the Waikato, turn Auckland into a bunch of isolated islands, and cut the route into Northland into a bunch of islands that need to be leapfrogged in order to keep us northerners from having to eat each other. Mankind has a preference to build by the sea (trade, transport, recreation, commerce, easy food source). Similarly, we build many roads following coastlines and rivers. If we do indeed get sealevel rise, then these million dollr+ Auckland homes will be worthless, and folks like me will be objecting to your wrecked home sloshing up in front of my newly beachfront property. Meanwhile, we may have the challenge of re-siting or re-building 500,000 homes, all on a shrinking landmass, and while attempting to limit our use of fossil fuels to support this mammoth rebuilding effort. Its a Chch re-build x 50, without insurance monies to support it. I suppose it may not cost too much fuel to rebuild a home from the (formerly Auckland) flotsam that washes up and gets collected from the new Bombay hills beach front. |

| 1419322 | 2016-04-24 09:11:00 | 7119 .............. Bees for instance. No one thinks about the population properly either. I doubt your comment... lots of people think and talk about the bees....maybe not here in this forum. There some of our political heads who are going quieter with time which use to be staunch no climate change believers. There might be some scientists that need climate change for their personal agenda/profile improvement, there are plenty others. Some of course for "religious" reasons. Some for the concern of our well-being.... I claim that very few of us including me have no idea about the big picture. Lets try our best whatever it might be, even if it is just to let someone believe in climate change. We might need to put ourselves in the position of some Islanders or Bangladeshi literally for a long period of time and see how that is affecting us....... Sure is, we are creating mountains of rubish.... |

Same as the Y2K bug, what a Money Spinning hoax that was. :( |

I saw a documentary where Bangladesh people were constantly rebuilding their homes on newly formed islands, due to excess flooding, tidal flows, and I suspect the effects of climate change... |
