As I can see, you've been around for a while - not as long as me - but quite a while . And yet you insinuate that I think NZ is a "hick country"?

no, I don't see the joke really

The insinuation is that here in NZ, we are some kind of backward hick country not able to come up to "American standards" or something
Is there some way I can help you with your problem?

1419267 2016-04-23 07:30:00 I would have thought someone living in one of the very few country's still using feet and yard's, that they would know 500 feet is 166 yards.....
(not hard to divide by 3 is it?)

and btw - a meter is only 3 inches more than a yard

Actually a metre is 3 and 3/8 inches longer than a yard

1419268 2016-04-23 10:43:00 I look on Joe as being an honorary Kiwi on our forum :) We are happy to have him here as he works real hard trying together his fellow Kiwi friends into the.... wait for it.... The World Series!!! Not sure what the play in the WS but I am sure we can beat them at it if we could only get a chance to play. I occasionally have a go at some of the Americanisms that we look at and wonder and have pulled his leg (figuratively Joe) about them. As I did in this thread about metrics. But it is, as always, in good fun.

Ken :)

Joe, we drive on the right side of the road darn it. Let's not get confused about right and wrong and right and left. :)

Well at least it has character then, lol!
It's only been on the market a short time and already they've had a couple of inquiries.
I just wish them all the best of luck in selling it soon, it's a real drag on their finances having to service two mortgages. Their new place in NC is completely different, being a ranch style and a lot smaller. Sort of like our open plan homes with attached garage, and a slightly bigger section.
