2008-01-25 21:52:00 | I decided to start a new thread - I know there is an existing one but I am having so many problems browsing this site I couldn't risk looking for the existing one. I keep getting hung when moving or trying to reply to a thread. No problems anywhere else on the internet so I rang PCWorld who seemed to know nothing about the problem and didn't know what to do anyway. I thought PCWorld knew everything there was to know about computers! Just hope somebody has a solution. Tom

2008-01-25 21:56:00 | Its been playing up for a while, seems to be getting worse each day - sooner or later its gonna die altogether - then maybe it will get fixed. Like the clock - it took time ( pun intended) I have found if you use FF and disable the the JavaScript things load as normal, then turn it back on if you want to post links or use the smiles, then hit refresh - usually "kicks it" through.

2008-01-26 01:38:00 | This problem wants sorting out and soon, its got to be putting off any visitors to the forum. Not helping much to post local fixes (hosts files/ad blocking and such) ;) Where are the mods when you need 'em?

Remember that the hosts file resolves hostnames, not URLs. |

2008-01-26 02:12:00 | Interesting . . . . . I didn't comment in the first thread, but will do so now . I was going through the 'it's just me' syndrome, but nice in a way to see it's not . I have all but given up on PF1 and these forums of late due to the problems mentioned here . Not by choice, but because navigating around was getting ridiculous . I'm using Opera, and as has been indicated by others, no other web page/s cause the difficulties these one's do, and the only way to get between pages is to push F5 repeatedly to have the progress bar to move when opening a page . I don't know what a 'Host File' is, and care even less . I don't beleive I should be making changes to my PC or 'files' just to have the 'privilege' of being able to view what I assume are still very good forums . I have no intention of changing my browser, or using ad-blocking software etc etc to be able to view these pages . Not when every other site I go to is working fine . If whomever or whatever wants to make it all-but-impossible for me to view these forums, then so be it . . . . . . . . there are plenty of others . Your comment Thomas01 speaks volumes . Just my :2cents: worth . AB
