633618 2008-01-24 19:11:00 Guy’s I’ve just purchased second-hand, a FlyView 147 USB TV/Radio tuner.

It’s going quite well, considering my aerial system, but it seems to have a couple of glitches.

1: I can’t work out how to record FM Radio. I get the channels and they play fine but can’t seem to find a way to record them? I can’t see anything in the manual about recording FM radio. It’s all about recording TV. I tried Goldwave but it seems to monitor Line In and I can’t see how to change to Line Out.

Anyone any suggestions?

2: I doesn’t have channel 1. Is this because NZ is one of the few countries that use Channel 1?

Is it analogue or DVB-S/T TV?

Don't know of any software for recording radio input, try Google maybe.
www.google.com

Or similar search pattern.

The Manual is on the same CD as the Drivers and could best be described as useless.

I’ve Googled and about all I’ve discovered is LifeView & FlyTV-USB2 are one and the same.

It’s not a digital tuner, just the old VHF/UHF and FM Radio. Works OK, just like to be able to record the FM Radio off it.

I haven’t tried recording Video yet. That will probably be another story.

Can you guy’s with Huappauge 3000 & 4000’s record FM Radio?

633621 2008-01-24 20:54:00 Most of these tuners (if its got FM as well), have a program, that let you record from the TV or FM side of it.

If you installed a program for it, whats it called?

It appears to be called LifeView TVR Speedy.

Since my last post I've recorded some TV no problem. Good quality too.

Just doesn't seem to have any facility to record FM Radio.

633623 2008-01-24 22:14:00 Has it got a button to switch to FM??

It may come up with a different screen, to what you saw with the tuner part of it.

Sure has. Starting at the top it goes;

Air TV
Cable TV
AV in
S-Video
FM Radio

I’ve tried pressing the record button that works for TV but zip for Radio.

I have a 4000 and a 350 PVR and answer is no.
I think there is software available but I have not used it.

Thanks Bantu, it bothers me why, but, if them’s the rules then??

Maybe someone out there can explain .

Surely there must be a way to capture the FM Radio before it’s on its way to the speakers?

I’ve thought about splitting & hooking line out to line in but my fading training doesn’t recommend this . :illogical

There must be a way to capture line out as opposed to line in????

This is driving me nuts . Who said too late? :D

633627 2008-01-26 23:02:00 Hmmm, can’t find any software anywhere but I’m wondering if I installed another Sound Card, (I’d then have On Board Sound + Sound Card) and took the line out of On Board Sound to the Line In of the Sound Card whether I’d be able to record the sound in using say Goldwave.

If anyone can understand that I’d be interested in their comments. :D

I guess it’s the feedback issue I’m trying to overcome. :illogical
