281177 2004-10-16 09:27:00 That looks really good.

And if you are getting it for less than $38 (the DSE trade price), a real bargain!

But perhaps you have to pay retail at DSE...

The car adapter is extremely useful.

281178 2004-10-16 10:49:00 I Brought 2 Pairs from Countdown in Plamy, Energizer Recharble Digital, 2300Mah, $13 each, When i got em home i read

Warning
Charge only in nickel-metal Hydride Battery Chargers

So when i go back in ill, check DSE for a charger, or buy the pair that has a charger with em

Always read the label.....

281179 2004-10-16 11:03:00 Also the Batt's i got with it just died so i put in some Everready General Purpose one's, get a long line of em like 20 or that for $6 (good for TV remote's)

So i put them in to get the current pics out & on the computer, but it won't start with em? not enough power in the cheap batteries????
I took em out after trying to turn on 2x .

On a total side note, anyone know the name of the music thats got alot of chanting in it (in Final Fantasy 8 [normally with the evil witch])???

281180 2004-10-17 05:45:00 genrally u can try all kinds of mem cards. u dont need to go with the brand that is suggested by the manufacturer or say per size .... its easy try it out, if you have issues return it. nomad (3693)

281182 2005-02-09 04:33:00 Exwesty has summed it up well for batteries.

If you use cheap AA's (non-alkaline) you are wasting both the time it takes to put them in and the money.

Camera's draw around 1 amp. A cheap "heavy duty" or "super heavy duty" battery destroys itself trying to deliver this. Alkalines handle it OK.

It makes little difference what "setting" the camera is as to current drain.

Unless a lithium is designed for high current it will fail (and possibly overheat). As well as that, you would have to be very rich to even consider the lithiums. They are dearer than rechargeables.

Even if camera's allow it, I would never recharge a NiMh battery in the camera, only in a charger. The smart chargers protect the battery from overchargung, and if the battery does leak its cheaper to toss the charger than the camera.

Most camera shops sell the charger/battery combinations. They are not expensive.
I therefore can't understand the trepidation.
4 x 1800 - 2300 mAh batteries combined with a smart charger would be around $60 or $80 tops. Readily available at DSE or any camera or electronics store.

These look OK at a quick glance.

$79.90 (or $38.27 trade price)
Thats a good price at trade rates!

I see from the latest "Consumer" Magazine that the digitor batteries that you gave a link to (above) are rated by them as one of the two best. They are "Fast and consistent" according to Consumer mag.
cheers

281183 2005-02-09 07:55:00 As per sam m, flashcards.co.nz have some pretty good deals. Someone on here, gave them a rave review for product and service. At your own risk, of course. Murray P (44)
