237927 2005-08-15 06:53:00 Just out of super interest. How much are the GPS alarm systems? Around $800 I take it like from Dynatron with $1 a day on monitoring?

What about a hidden cam in the car with some tap recording or digital recording or such like around the pedals?

Thanks.

237929 2005-10-17 06:32:00 Hi,
fastcarman9999 i've managed to get mine installed by a pro' fitter but for the life of me ' we (both of us) cant get the alarm to lock the doors once the engine is started or even driving.

If i lock the doors manually whilst driving or with the engine running with the remote, and switch off the engine, the doors unlock fine.

The instructions we have are very vague and i was hoping you could help me out on this.

Is there something i am suppose to do to tell the alarm to lock the doors when ive started the car or driving? Do i have to program it?

Please help

Many Thanks

237930 2007-02-02 20:16:00 Alright, hopefully I can clear a few things up for some of you guys because I have just recently (today feb. 2nd 2007) finished my meticulous and hard search for the perfect alarm to fit my needs.

I have a 97 toyota camry but I have WAY too much to protect inside. I have 2 12" subs, 4 boston acoustics door speakers (like the best) 1 amplifier (about to be two) 1 ipod interface adapter and a high tech car stereo head unit. Needless to say, I need (needed* cuz I just bought the one I decided on) something good.

now as far as bobotheclown's claim that car alarms have been extinct for 10 years...yeah right! As far as insurance premiums discounts...I JUST got off the phone with State Farm and they told me that they haven't started awarding discounts for ANY car alarm yet. BEFORE YOU BUY, GIVE YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY A CALL! They don't just give discounts to cheap, factory-installed alarms (or at least most don't). They probably have to be somewhat high tech. No for the last guy's inquiry about the locking once the ignition is turned on, some (not all) car alarms have this feature.

If your manual says that yours does, contact the company you bought it from. If you had it professionally hooked up, take it back to them too and they may figure out what's wrong. Now to the guy that was complaining about how some people install the car alarms these days and that said "the best car alarm in the world would be useless without proper install" I agree with you for the most part.

Were you talking about if someone breaks in, pops your hood, and smashes the siren that it would be useless? I just didn't know what you meant. Hopes this helps guys cuz I know I learned a LOT searching for all these things
