633888 2008-01-25 08:50:00 I am finding logging onto KOL broadband somewhat slow, usually between 10am and 7pm it can take up to 20 min for a connection to register. Outside these hours it connects almost instantly.

Support suggested disabling Anti virus and Firewall to see if there is a conflict. However, this would not explain why the problem is restricted to time frame.

Is broadband connection subject to "x number of connections at an exchange" or similar.

Once I get the connection the connection speed is excellent.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

633889 2008-01-25 09:07:00 Why don't you leave the broadband connected if you have a problem connecting.
It will probably be due to congestion on KOL servers, you don't get cheap prices without some inconveniences.

If you have an internal adsl modem in the computer, I assume you would need to connect each time you boot up the computer.

Personally I think it is a problem with kol, as they handle the login system, and they are known for not being the most reliable provider. The modems/routers admin pages as well as the lights on the modem should tell you if their is a connection and if adsl is working OK, and if there is a problem the admin page should tell you what the error is.

I don't have any problem logging in at any time with xnet.

633892 2008-01-26 07:50:00 The ASDL router/modem is connect full time, the computers that are connected to the router are turned off when not in use.

Thanks for the replies.
