Win XP on Dell Notepad. I have added an external monitor and have got the background displaying but no Icons. The Icons are showing on the LCD screen, but not on the external monitor. Any ideas please?? |

It sounds like you have the external monitor set to extend desktop and not mirror desktop. The settings should be under displays |

I think you are right PLOD but could you be a bit more explicit please. I right clicked on the desktop and then clicked properties, settings. Where do I find 'displays' please. |

Properties > settings > advanced (button) > select your graphics card tab and open the Nvidia control panel (if thats what you've got). Dont know about ATI or integrated video, but should be similar. You can also start it from Control Panel. |
