303419 2004-12-16 01:24:00 Hi,

I was wondering - can the 15 minute time window be increased, to 30 minutes or an hour? I find such a short time annoying, and it seems others have missed their chance to edit already.

Also, can we get the old emoticons? I liked them better myself.

Cheers George

303420 2004-12-16 01:42:00 dont you read over your post as soon as you have read it ? noone (22)
303421 2004-12-16 01:45:00 Using that argument, we could say that editing was not necessary at all! However, in reality it rarely works like this, and the mistake is noticed later on. george12 (7)
303422 2004-12-16 01:53:00 there must be a reason behind it - prob changing to something bad later on that could possibly slip through the grasps of the mods noone (22)
303423 2007-09-19 02:50:00 If the edit time window was that long, you could have all sorts of issues. People changing the question after it was answered, that type of thing. 15 mins is plenty. Who cares about a few speeling mistakes?

Thought it was about time for a massive thread resurrection.

Ah, but perhaps you noticed this after you posted and cunningly edited it in time for it to not say so (about 30 seconds I think...)

Almost 3 years? I think I was deliberatley looking for a thread about this, I didn't find it by mistake, lol.

303427 2007-09-20 02:19:00 Even with the 15 minute limit I have seen some "rewriting of history". An altered question can make an answer to the original question seem odd. :waughh:

The original forum had no provision for editing. 15 minutes is plenty. "think before sending" is a good rule.
