| 635536 | 2008-01-30 08:58:00 | Has anyone else noticed their broadband internet is going really slow these days? Over the last couple of weeks my internet seems to take ages to do anything. downloads take longer than dial up and the last couple of days I've started to notice that I need to click on links a couple of times to get any action from them. I'm running windows XP SP2, using Firefox 2.0.0.11 and connecting vis slingshot with Comodo firewall. (windows firewall is off) I initially put some of the slowness down to school holidays, but the last couple of weeks have been worse than dial up. I've run the usual disk clean-ups etc but nothing seems to help. anyone else having issues or got any ideas? |

| 635539 | 2008-01-30 09:48:00 | not slow on Telstra, sounds like your provide sucks, even this site loads instantly. BUT you should check for update software, I just fixed a PC running Vista that had seven different programs updating every time the owner went online, it ran like a dog, well a one legged one. turned off all but antivirus and windows updating (better to leave on if not a geek) and now it flys. |

| 635540 | 2008-01-30 11:40:00 | OK I set the media type setting in my network properties to 100base TX full duplex, which seems to have made a bit of difference. It was on auto select before. I just did a speed test and got 353 kb/s which seems pretty slow. |
