| 635474 | 2008-01-30 07:15:00 | I want to upgrade my DELL dimension 8300 from 1 gig to 2 or 3 gig I know I have a pair of empty memory slots so will get 2 x 1/2 gig or 2 x 1 gig Two questions. 1) Is there away to find the type of existing mem ? likely to be 184 pin DIMM DDR (2) But PC2700 or PC3200 Or does it not matter 2) I have done an upgrade on a win98 system and the largest mem chips have to be in the first slots. Is this the same for XP I know I can open it up and have a look. But..... All those cable to unplug and then replug!!:badpc: Control Panel and Belarc Advisor did not give the details I require. Thanks In Advance |
