635477 2008-01-30 07:17:00 Hello all. Long story short. i thought i had a problem with a linksys wireless card for laptop - top cover broke off one day - could still connect, both lights worked. Anyway, broke down and got new replacement card (same brand, etc.), installed it and........... still no internet. nothing. zilch........after fiddling and uninstalling, reinstalling drivers, etc...can finally have it find a network. yeah!!! online about 10 mins tops, mouse freezes, windows freezes, can't change to task manager, nothing. total complete freeze. won't shut down with switch either, so I unplug it, take out battery. restart. everything comes on but wireless card...all drivers gone for it, supposedly. before i chuck this damned thing out the window, what the #!@#@!@#! is going on? :badpc: could i possibly have a virus? or is laptop ready for burial? It's an IBM thinkpad 600X which I bought used. I have already replaced hard drive, battery, and ac power cord. starrekin61 (10116)
