635111 2008-01-29 09:04:00 Hi all

Have just set up a wireless network at the end of last year. Have just noticed that if the wireless router is plugged in, there is a strange clicking sound on the wireless phone. Clicking goes away if the router is unplugged.

Also, the internet has been a bit up and down since getting the wireless installed (down on both wired and wireless connections). Have to reset logical connection in Network Connections, then reset the router to try and regain internet access.

Also the phone has been acting strangely lately. Sometimes one receiver will ring then the other and when you pick it up there's only a dial tone.

Are the two devices interfering with each other? If they are, what should I do to make both devices work successfully again?

OS: Windows XP Pro
ISP: TelstraClear
Phone: Uniden transmitting at 2.4GHz
Wireless router: Belkin Wireless G Router

All help appreciated!

635112 2008-01-29 09:12:00 Have you tried changing the channel of the wireless broadcast on the router?

They are probably both on 2 . 4ghz, although it normally isn't an issue .

635113 2008-01-29 09:13:00 They will be interfering with each other as they both use the 2.4Ghz frequency.
You could try changing the Channel on the wireless router.
If it is on Channel 1 try it on the highest possible setting - usually 11 - and vice versa.

I have the 5.8GHz Uniden phones for this reason.

Just changed channel from 1 to 11 - dial tone no longer clicks but haven't tried wireless network yet - laptop's turned off (and I'm too lazy to get it out :D )
