634946 2008-01-29 03:13:00 A quick nod to our home page, where our Web Producer Michael Foreman has just posted a video of himself and flight instructor Liam Brown flying under Auckland's Harbour Bridge. Virtually of course. It's all part of Mike Pero's latest venture: professional-grade flight simulators for hire to the general public. Check it out here (pcworld.co.nz). Chris Keall (10417)

634949 2008-01-29 03:40:00 Been doing stuff like that for years in MS Flight Sims. Like taking off from Mt Cook airstrip in a Boeing 747 or land a 737 on an aircraft carrier.

634955 2008-01-30 00:44:00 As far as we are aware, the last person to fly under Harbour Bridge for real was Fred Ladd, in a Grumman Widgeon amphibian, back in 1967. It was his retirement day as a pilot, so he wasn't worried about losing his licence. There was a trial, but Ladd was discharged without conviction after the judge took his distinguished war flying record into account.
What type of aircraft did your mate do it in?
