| 636356 | 2008-02-01 20:32:00 | Hi all I'm going to be reformatting a friend's PC (Win XP Home) and want to know if it will still activate OK. Since the OEM activated it originally, I have added: -1x 256MB memory stick (256>512MB) -1x DVD writer -1x 80GB HD -1x Internal ADSL Modem (no longer in use) Will the machine still activate (as the original config has changed)? I heard something about copying wpa.dbl from the old installation to the new one to 'bypass' activation on the new installation - does this work? Thanks |
