636139 2008-02-01 04:30:00 I have been having problems with Office 2007 and wanted to try to repair it. When I tried to open the installation in -> control panel -> add/remove programs I got a message saying the installation is corrupt and to re-install from dvd/cd. This I did and retried to un-install but no joy - still get the same message about corrupt installation and re-install from dvd/cd:badpc:

I would be very grateful if some one could tell me how to get round this problem!

Thanks

Did you (attempt to) uninstall it completely from add/remove programs and then try reinstalling from the DVD?

Any other error messages that came up?

636141 2008-02-02 03:12:00 Yes, I tried and failed to uninstall from the add/remove programmes section . I then ran setup from the installation disk and then tried to uninstall a second time using the add/remove programs function .

I did not get any messages other than "This product installation has been corrupted, run setup again from cd, dvd or other original installation source"

There is a solution on he MS KB

. microsoft . com/kb/928218/en-us" target="_blank">support . microsoft . com

but it looks to be horrendously complicated and comes with standard dire warnings about editing the registry .

Are there any less complex solutions?

636142 2008-02-02 03:23:00 Thats probably the only way to remove it completely.

If you were in Mt Eden, I could do it for you.

Are u in Mt Eden?

What version of Office is it? Standard, Pro?

636144 2008-02-04 23:41:00 run setup again from cd
doesn't mean UNinstall...........

with past versions of office you just stuff in the cd and it'll give you three basic choices install/remove/repair........choose repair...

636145 2008-04-02 13:35:00 To uninstall Office 2007 get the Product ID from the setup.xml of the source MS Office 2007 installations files. Setup.xml can be found in the ProPlus.WW directory. Then run this command:

msiexec /x <Product Code> /q

Example: msiexec /x {00000000-0000-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE} /q REBOOT=REALLYSUPPRESS
