| 635867 | 2008-01-31 06:03:00 | I'm curious to know what is the make & model the motherboard in my com. HP tech specs state that it's FIC,of which there are many different mobo's listed for this com.FIC KM266;Salsa GLA; and on.Sandra lite X1 says that it's a FIC KM266,but then Sandra can be wrong 2 times:says that there are 3 Ram slots and there are only 2on mobo. IGoogled for tech specs of com model name/number & received specs for an Salsa AM37 mobo. HP customer support tell me that if the specs are for FIC,that's what is installed Etched on the mobo is AM37. Be nice if it is because the AM37 accepts 2GB ram in the two slots. Personally,I'd opt for it being AM37,because that is what' etched on the board. Just curious. | 635873 | 2008-01-31 20:26:00 | Why does everyone run software to find out about hardware? You just take the lid off and read the model number. You had the model number in your first post anyway. Made by FIC. Specs: www.dealtime.com |

| 635874 | 2008-02-01 08:25:00 | Thanks pctek. The link gave me a condensed version of the manual I got off the net. It's all good, runs okI was just curious about the different results I was getting using 2-3 software choices.Especially as the board's etched AM37.The FIC's fitted into HP Compaq Presario PC's are all much the same. Apart from fitting it with 1GB of RAM,I'm not going to do much more with this com. Cheers |
